Job description
December arrives and you’re already singing Mariah Carey’s anthem? Do you know the names of Santa’s reindeer by heart? Is putting up the Christmas tree an annual event for you? Then you are one of us!
At Acttiv we want to incorporate an all-rounder who is full of good vibes to our entertainment team as Christmas reinforcement. But beware! This post is only for you if: a) you’re a super fan of all things Christmas, b) you’re a dynamic and energetic person, and c) you’re ready to lead an aquagym class dressed as an elf.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Organising children’s games for all ages, from the mini-club (3 to 8 years old) to the maxi-club (9 to 12 years old) and even teens (from 12 years old).
- Implementing activities of the adult programme: sports, games of all kinds or handicraft workshops, among others.
- Dancing with the children at the mini-disco
- Participating in the nightly entertainment shows
- Speaking in front of an audience with a microphone
- Liaising with guests and promoting the day’s activities.
- Taking care of the equipment necessary for all activities
- Obtain positive reviews to improve the online reputation of the establishment
Just as the elves at the North Pole work in teams, you will not be alone. In addition to your colleagues, you will be supported by the entertainments leader and the area coordinator. Both will guide and advise you in your tasks to meet the quality standards of both the hotel and Acttiv.
What are we asking for?
It is not essential to know how to go down a chimney or drive a flying sledge. To join Acttiv you only need:
- Experience as an entertainer for at least one season
- A good level of Spanish and English (at least B2). French, Portuguese, Dutch… and any other language is a plus.
- Education: no specific qualification is required, but we value studies in entertainment, children’s education, sport or dance as an asset.
- Geographical availability to work in the Canary Islands
- Availability: 16th December – 6th January

OK, but what if you want to be an entertainer, but you don’t have experience yet? We’ll give you a hand! At Acttiv we offer introductory courses in tourist entertainment. In short: we train you to work as an entertainer and, if you pass the course, we commit ourselves to hiring you.

In addition, as an entertainer you will enjoy the following conditions:
- Accommodation: you can use the accommodation offered by the hotel or find your own accommodation. If you decide to use it, €165,60 per month will be deducted from your salary to pay expenses.

- 1,5-2 days free per week
- Acttiv Contract: Permanent seasonal
- Mutual insurance for accidents at work and civil liability insurance (during working hours).

- 30 (calendar) days holiday per year of work
- Help with registration in the Spanish contribution system
